Andraste
A walled-garden floral, combining rose and jasmine with herbs, smoky tea, leather and woods.
Perfumer: Kamila Lelakova, Céline Herbette
Andraste takes its name from the Celtic warrior goddess invoked by Queen Boadicea before battle. Composed jointly by Céline Herbette and Kamila Lelakova, it draws on a walled garden where heat gathers around flowers, herbs and foliage.
Bergamot and lemon meet elemi, eucalyptus, Lapsang Souchong, saffron and thyme. The cool, mentholic expression of eucalyptus contrasts with the smoky tea, setting different aromatic textures alongside the brightness of citrus.
Honeysuckle, jasmine, Lady Emma Hamilton Rose, orris and wisteria form the heart. Earthy, powdery orris textures temper the abundance of flowers. The tea, rose and wisteria are identified as AromaSpace notes, bringing captured scent impressions into this garden-like composition.
Ambrette seed, guaiacwood, leather, musk, oakwood, vetiver and incense form the base. A vegetal musky impression, supple leather and smoky wood give the flowers a deeper setting. The perfume develops through these contrasts between the garden's floral richness, cooler herbs and the darker textures beneath them.
