Opus XII – Rose Incense

A darkly poetic take on rose, where bright resinous incense and metallic ink cut through dewy Damascena rose before sinking into a warm veil of myrrh, vanilla and creamy woods for a contemplative, inky‑floral aura.

Scent Development and Character

A luminous yet brooding rose wrapped in resins and ink, Opus XII – Rose Incense opens with a bright, peppered resin accord of elemi and smoky olibanum sharpened by a metallic black ink note. The heart reveals a cool, watery Damascena rose water effect veiled in supple suede nuances and a denser frankincense absolute, turning the florals darker and more textural. In the base, myrrh, vanilla, sandalwood and cedar fuse into a warm, balsamic woodiness that cushions the incense‑rose accord in a soft, slightly sweet haze while preserving its meditative, inky character.

Who It Is For and When to Wear It

The structured resinous opening and cool rose heart make this especially suited to reflective evenings, formal occasions, and cooler seasons when its incense and woody sweetness can fully unfold. The composed, slightly inky character works well in artistic or intellectual settings, and one or two sprays are adequate for close indoor wear, with a slightly bolder application rewarding outdoor use in autumn and winter. Most at home in cool weather, especially autumn and winter, with enough softness in the rose and vanilla facets to work on temperate spring days; generally too dense for hot, humid summer climates. Sillage is Projection is assertive but controlled: a pronounced aura in the first few hours that gradually settles into a persistent, resinous-woody trail rather than a room-filling cloud. Longevity is High-concentration resins, incense and woods give Opus XII Rose Incense notably strong longevity, typically lasting well over 8 hours on skin and often into the next day on fabric with moderate application. These are editorial estimates derived from the official composition and concentration and will vary with skin and climate.
