Yann Vasnier is a French perfumer from Rennes in Brittany. Growing up around flowers and unusual plants fostered an early attention to smell, and perfumery offered him a career in which artistic intuition and scientific discipline could remain equally active.
Career
After studying chemistry and languages, Vasnier trained through Quest International and ISIPCA and developed his craft under Françoise Caron. His early Palisander marked the beginning of a portfolio spanning major houses and independent projects.
Creative Style
Vasnier has cited labdanum, incense, ambergris and ambroxan among materials that interest him. His structures often set radiance against warmth, dry wood against skin-like density, and an aromatic lift against a persistent mineral or ambery base.
