English Oak & Redcurrant comes from the English Oak pairings Jo Malone London introduced in 2017, a cologne built around the feeling of walking through an old British wood. Oak sits at its centre, matched here with a tart red berry.
The oak itself was made for the line. Oak chips spend five hours roasting at high heat, which pushes their dry, earthy character toward something smoky and layered. Perfumer Yann Vasnier describes this roasted oak as the source of the scent's depth.
Redcurrant arrives first, sharp and juicy, with a brightness that edges toward citrus. A rose heart softens the meeting between fruit and toasted wood, and the oak stays on as the scent settles.
