About Tauer Perfumes

Tauer Perfumes is an independent fragrance house established in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2005 by perfumer Andy Tauer. The founder creates the compositions himself, and the perfumes are made by hand in small batches.

History

The house began with a conversation at dinner with a friend whose Zurich bookshop also sold Moroccan handicrafts. A request for a perfume built around natural materials from Morocco led to Le Maroc Pour Elle, followed by L'Air du Désert Marocain. Online sales and exchanges with perfume enthusiasts helped the small Zurich operation reach an international audience while retaining a close connection to its creator.

Philosophy & Signature Style

Creative freedom, enough time to develop an idea and carefully chosen materials guide the house. Natural and synthetic ingredients work together to convey landscapes and memories through the depth and texture of a composition. Tauer describes his perfumes as fragrant sculptures: objects shaped from scented materials that become part of the wearer and find their final form on the person wearing them.

Iconic Fragrances

L'Air du Désert Marocain evokes a Moroccan desert night through spices, woods and an amber impression, while Lonestar Memories brings together worn leather and the smoke of an outdoor fire. Le Maroc Pour Elle places rose and jasmine against warm woods, offering another expression of the atmosphere of a place. These compositions show the range of imagery that the house translates into scent.
