About Neela Vermeire Creations
Founded in Paris by Neela Vermeire, an India-born perfume connoisseur, the house describes its work as French contemporary classic perfumery with an Eastern heritage.
History
Educated in social sciences and trained in law, the founder drew instead on her formative years in India and her many return visits to family there. Working from Paris, she partnered with perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour and launched the house in 2012 with a first trio of fragrances; Pierre Dinand designed the flacon that same year. In December 2024 the brand entered Japan officially through retailer NOSE SHOP.
Philosophy & Signature Style
From the outset the founder gave Duchaufour free rein over a costly palette of attars and resins, resulting in formulas rich in natural oudh, rose and jasmine essentials and real sandalwood in richly layered compositions. She also works closely on every composition, evaluating each modification from start to finish. The circular logo evokes the chakra, while its twenty-four internal ridges reference the Eiffel Tower.
Iconic Fragrances
The opening trio remains the heart of the line: *Trayee*, a tribute to the Vedic traditions; *Mohur*, a rose-centred homage to the Mughal empress Nur Jahan; and *Bombay Bling*, a colourful portrait of contemporary Mumbai. In 2022 the house added Fragments by NVC, a separate collection that steps away from Indian themes toward green, warm and comforting territory.
