About Maison de L'Asie

Maison de L'Asie is a Singapore fragrance house founded by Elizabeth Liau. It translates Asian places, travel, and personal memory through the methods and materials of French fine perfumery.

History

Liau grew up in Singapore and moved through finance, art, and travel before establishing the house in 2019. The death of her mother in 2018 led her to consider how fragrance could preserve nostalgia, comfort, and the memory of people who are no longer present. Chapter 01: Singapore became the opening statement, connecting memories of mother, lover, and home.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The house organizes fragrances as geographical chapters rather than treating Asia as a single exotic idea. Its work focuses on cultural intersections within cities, the perspective gained through travel, and the coexistence of East and West, past and present. Maison de L'Asie collaborates with French perfumery partners, materials specialists, and master perfumers while keeping Asian narratives at the center. Layering suggestions can also connect two stories from the same chapter on skin.

Iconic Fragrances

Mother x Love, Lost Lovers, and NANYANG form the three memories of Chapter 01: Singapore. Other works, including Rivière Siam and Bois d'Indonésie, continue the house's practice of treating Asian places as specific, personal narratives rather than broad decorative themes.
