About KENZO
KENZO Parfums carries forward designer Kenzo Takada’s love of flowers and nature, together with a distinctly Japanese sensibility. Based in France, the fragrance house expresses youthfulness, joy, and the freedom to bring different cultural influences together.
History
Takada’s first fashion collection in 1970 placed color, flowers, and an open creative spirit at the center of his work. That outlook continues through fragrances inspired by blossoms, the sea, and memories of everyday life in Japan, giving the perfume collections a connection with the designer’s wider world.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Nature provides subjects for imaginative interpretation as well as recognizable scent materials. The house’s invention of a perfume for the unscented poppy illustrates that approach: a flower can become an idea expressed through other ingredients. KENZO also works on responsible sourcing, lighter packaging, and recycled materials, while supporting local flower growing and collaborating with an organization devoted to restoring coral reefs.
Iconic Fragrances
Alberto Morillas composed Flower by KENZO as a powdery floral expression of the poppy. KENZO HOMME connects marine impressions with a bottle inspired by bamboo. The Memori collection turns subjects such as tatami, tea, and cherry blossoms into separate fragrances, presenting intimate memories alongside the house’s more familiar floral and oceanic themes.
