About Ferragamo
Ferragamo is an Italian luxury house based in Florence. It began with shoes and grew into leather goods, apparel, silk products, eyewear, watches and fragrances for women and men. Its perfumes often take a concrete element of the house, such as a ribbon or a silk print, or a specific fruit or flower, as the starting point for a scent.
History
The group traces its origins to 1927 and to Salvatore Ferragamo's shoemaking. On 1 October 2021, Ferragamo completed the transfer of its perfume business to the Inter Parfums group, which received an exclusive worldwide license to produce and distribute Ferragamo-branded perfumes. The business is run through a dedicated Italian subsidiary in Florence, set up to keep the existing know-how and a close link with the brand. In 2022 the house was rebranded as simply "Ferragamo."
Approach to Fragrance
The fragrance collections sometimes draw directly on the fashion archive. Signorina carries the house's Vara ribbon on its bottle. Storie di Seta, a collection originally launched with four perfumes, is inspired by Salvatore Ferragamo's silk collection and sets out to render silk prints in fragrance; the scents can be worn alone or layered with one another.
Highlights
- *Signorina*: a fragrance whose bottle features the Vara ribbon.
- *Storie di Seta*: a collection inspired by the house's silks. In *Savane di Seta*, a carrot accord leads into iris and creamy Indian sandalwood.
- *Fiamma*: a woody floral that opens on juicy white pear with amber and spicy accents, then moves to a creamy, green gardenia heart.
