Il Sottobosco
Pink pepper, carrot seed and patchouli suggest the textured earth of a forest after rain.
Perfumer: Fabrice Pellegrin
Il Sottobosco takes its name from the Italian word for undergrowth. Its setting is Oasi Zegna just after rain, as the founder walks across damp earth, wet leaves and pine needles. Moss hangs in the air and a shaft of sunlight enters the canopy, creating a moment of quiet connection with the forest.
Fabrice Pellegrin translates that setting into a woody spicy composition. Sparkling pink pepper introduces movement, carrot seed brings an earthy texture, and deep patchouli anchors the scent. Bright spice meets a grounded impression closer to soil than to polished timber. The combination gives the forest scene both animation and stillness.
A brown gradient 100mL glass bottle refers to the forest floor and fallen autumn leaves. Its wooden magnetic cap bears the Zegna family crest, and the bottle supports a 150mL refill.
