Vert Noir comes from Yadiy Hadini's respect for chypre and his distance from its classical form. He keeps the structure while softening green notes that can otherwise dominate. Here their role is to lift the citrus and quietly carry its shape into the drydown.
The top combines Calabrian bergamot, Italian orange, bergamot petitgrain and Bergamot Melito. The latter comes from Melito di Porto Salvo in Calabria, and the brand describes its bright citrus character through green facets, delicate bitterness and tartness. White champaca and Madagascar ylang-ylang form the floral heart with Sabah vanilla tincture and tonka bean CO₂, rounding the flowers without losing the green outline. Oakmoss absolute anchors the base, surrounded by patchouli, Peru balsam, Bourbon vanilla absolute, sandalwood and vetiver.
The house calls it a vanilla chypre, with two vanilla materials giving warmth to the quieter earthiness of moss, resin and wood. At 25% parfum concentration, it offers a way to explore that balance from the bright citrus opening through flowers to a more grounded finish.
