Chocolat et sauternes
A dessert-wine gourmand combining fresh fruit, raisin, cacao, barrel and dry wood impressions.
Chocolat et sauternes takes the fruit and sweetness of dessert wine as the subject of a beverage-inspired gourmand. It moves from a fresher fruit impression toward raisin, cacao and drier woods, bringing several different expressions of sweetness into the composition.
The top notes are Kyoho grape, apple, white peach, La France pear and Muscat. Their different fruit characters give brightness to the wine theme, with softer peach and pear textures accompanying the grape impressions at the opening.
Raisin, rose petals, cacao and bitter chocolate form the heart. The richer sweetness of dried fruit meets the darker character of cacao and the softness of flowers. Together, these notes suggest a meeting of dessert and wine, developing the fruit theme through sweeter and more bitter textures.
Barrel, dry wood, brown sugar, cinnamon and spicy vanilla appear in the final notes. The drier wood impressions accompany the sweetness of brown sugar and vanilla, with cinnamon adding spice. Presented as a 50mL eau de parfum, the fragrance connects bright fruit with a warmer combination of wood, spice and dessert-like sweetness.
