About Barrel Accord

Barrel Accord evokes the wooden casks used in the ageing of wine and spirits. In perfumery, it provides a theme where the texture of wood meets the impression of a drink. Casks can be made from different woods, including oak, chestnut, acacia and hinoki.

Scent Profile

The central impression is woody, with a drier texture and a depth associated with wine or spirits. Fresh fruit, raisin and cacao can accompany the wood, bringing a sweeter wine-like character into contact with the barrel theme. Rose petals offer a softer floral texture beside the drier woody expression.

Use in Perfumery

A barrel accord can be placed in the base of a beverage-inspired gourmand, supporting the sweetness of fruit and dessert materials. Brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla add warmer, sweeter and spicier textures around the wood, linking the drink impression with a softer gourmand character.
