Oud Shamash
A dense, luxurious woody oriental centered on Laotian oud and glowing resins. Hot rum and saffron spices lead into a dark rose‑nagarmotha heart, before settling into a long, leathery and balsamic base touched with ambergris, white musk and Bourbon vanilla.
Scent Development and Character
A dark, opulent **woody oriental** built around Laotian oud, dense resins and warm spices. It opens with a spirited rum note laced with saffron, cinnamon, pink pepper and davana, feeling hot, boozy and slightly aromatic. The heart turns richer and more textured, with Turkish rose threaded through herbal‑woody nagarmotha and the unusual brightness of Saint Thomas berries. The base is long and enveloping: Laotian oud illuminated by labdanum, tolu balsam and sandalwood, underpinned by leathery and dry woody nuances, ambergris and white musk, then rounded with patchouli and Bourbon vanilla for a subtly sweet, balsamic warmth rather than overt dessert‑like sweetness.
Who It Is For and When to Wear It
Best suited to cool weather and evening wear when its dense resins, warm spices and oud can fully unfold. It reads refined but intense, working for formal occasions, intimate settings, or statement daytime wear for those comfortable with richer oud compositions. Best suited to autumn and winter, when its warmth and density are most comfortable; can also work on cooler spring evenings but is generally too heavy for hot summer weather. Sillage is Moderate to above‑moderate projection: noticeable and enveloping in the first hours without becoming overwhelming, then settling closer to the skin. Longevity is Strong longevity for an Eau de Parfum, often lasting around 8–10 hours on skin with a pronounced base that lingers.
