Izia
A rose fragrance centred on a d'Ornano garden rose that blooms briefly, once a year.
Perfumer: Amandine Clerc-Marie
Izia takes its name from Isabelle d'Ornano, credited by Sisley as the fragrance's creator. At its centre is a mysterious rose grown in the d'Ornano garden, one that flowers only once a year and only briefly.
The d'Ornano rose sits in the heart with a floral accord of jasmine, peony and lily of the valley, plus angelica, whose green, slightly bitter root character keeps the rose from turning sugary. Above it, white bergamot, pink pepper and aldehydes give a bright, sparkling start.
Underneath lie cedar, amber and musk, a warm woody base that the musk softens. The bright opening gives way to something closer and calmer on the skin.
