Eau du Soir
A chypre of citrus and many flowers, pictured as an evening walk in a Seville garden.
Eau du Soir sets citrus and sensual florals against a chypre shade. Sisley pictures it as an evening walk through a garden in bloom at the Alcázar of Seville; soir is French for evening.
Mandarin and grapefruit open with a touch of pepper. Rose and jasmine follow, joined in the heart by mock orange, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley, iris, juniper and carnation. The juniper's resinous green and the spice of carnation keep a crowded floral heart from settling into plain sweetness.
Musk, amber, oakmoss, patchouli and cistus lie underneath. Sisley names amber and patchouli as the last touch; with the moss and the cistus resin, they leave a dark, warm trail.
