Inspired by shinrin yoku, the Japanese practice of forest bathing, Falling Trees imagines a slow walk beneath a forest canopy. Juniper and bergamot open with a cool, aromatic edge, sharpened by black pepper. Olibanum, myrrh and elemi then give the composition its resinous depth, evoking bark without claiming to reproduce the scent of a particular tree. In the base, oakmoss brings a green, mossy texture; cypriol adds an earthy, woody shade; and benzoin lends a measured amber sweetness. Founder and perfumer Alia Raza describes the stillness and beauty of deep woods as her creative aim. The result brings together the suggestion of moving air, sunlit bark and shaded ground. Its restrained sweetness and pronounced woods make it a considered choice for someone drawn to aromatic, resinous perfumes.
