Stercus

Stercus treats bodily processes and the fertilising of soil as parts of a continuous cycle of life. It places inviting sweetness beside an animalic character that can provoke recoil, connecting an ending with a new beginning. Its texture keeps something bodily and unpolished.

Almond and heliotrope bring a soft powdery aspect, joined by aromatic anise, bright aldehydes and rounded rose. Oud, leather, cedar and musk give depth beneath vanilla, creating tension between sweetness and firmer woody textures.

It fits an interest in woods with a skin-like or leathery presence. Judge its animalic side before choosing it simply for sweetness. A small amount can accompany restrained evening clothes.

Created by Alessandro Gualtieri in 2014, the parfum uses a clear rectangular 50mL bottle. Its bronze metal cap is inset with brown horn from Ethiopian cattle.
