Lumière Blanche
Midday white light rendered as cold spice against milky softness.
Perfumer: Sidonie Lancesseur
Lumière Blanche is set in the middle of summer on an Italian coast, at the moment the sun at its zenith erases colour. What remains is a blinding white, a milky aura and, at the edges, the lure of a mirage.
Sidonie Lancesseur calls it a fragrance of "beautifully contrasting hot and cold notes". The cold side arrives first: cardamom, star anise and cinnamon read as fresh rather than cosy, a clear, spicy coolness moving through the glare.
Iris, an almond milk accord and cashmeran then turn the light into a soft, milky cocoon, powdery and rounded, like the afterimage of white light. Woods, tonka bean and musks settle it into a warm, sensual close.
