Glycine
Brighter caviar lime and bergamot meet cooler wisteria and white peony, with softer wood and musk suggesting shade under a flowering arbour.
Perfumer: Fabrice Pellegrin
Glycine takes its inspiration from the purple wisteria growing at Villa Botanica. This current eau de parfum wears the 2025 Flora Orchestra design and was created by Fabrice Pellegrin. He recalls the cool shade beneath a flowering arbour and the softer, slightly spicy floral scent drifting from it. A familiar garden scene becomes an exploration of a less often noticed flower, connecting brighter citrus with paler flowers and more airy musk.
Caviar lime brings a sharper, sparkling citrus impression, alongside brighter bergamot peel. Wisteria forms a softer floral centre with lightly spicy detail, joined by the paler, more watery character of white peony. White musk connects the flowers with a smoother, cleaner finish, supported by quieter cedarwood. Brighter citrus gives way to cooler flowers and softer wood and musk, for someone who enjoys more transparent flowers and a little shade rather than stronger floral sweetness.
Consider it for a garden walk during wisteria season or a daytime outing, with pale purple or white clothing. The selected 50mL bottle pairs clear, rounded-shoulder glass with a tall pale label. A black cylindrical cap and ringed neck define its outline against lighter liquid. The label has a rounded lower edge and the Glycine name at its centre. Liquid showing a faint yellow-green tint and a thicker glass base suggest light within a flowering garden.
