Solano
Fruity davana meets generous ylang-ylang over tonka and patchouli: a soft floral amber inspired by warm winds from the Sahara.
Perfumer: Corinne Cachen
Solano turns a wind from the Sahara into an enveloping floral amber. Its imagined landscape is a sweep of dunes under golden light, yet its texture comes from generous flowers rather than a purely dry desert accord. Introduced in 2019, it was composed by Corinne Cachen within the house's olfactory direction by Jean-Claude Ellena. The sense of southern warmth comes through a combination of ripe fruit, flowers and a softer, rounded base.
Davana opens the composition with an aromatic sweetness reminiscent of ripe fruit. Ylang-ylang then brings a fuller floral heart: powdery and fruity, with the spicier, almost leathery facets described by the house. Patchouli and tonka absolute form the base, adding a quieter depth and rounded sweetness beneath the flower. These materials create an amber-like warmth without turning the fragrance into a simple inventory of desert spices.
Try it for an outing towards evening or when you want a flower with a warmer, more enveloping texture. The 100mL presentation has rounded black glass, a broad black cap and a thick curved base. A dark label places the gold house name above its botanical emblem and the name Solano.
