Lalique Le Parfum
Aromatic bay and pink pepper meet almond-like flowers, with vanilla, tonka bean and patchouli giving a warmer powdery finish.
Perfumer: Dominique Ropion
Le Parfum was composed by Dominique Ropion and introduced as an eau de parfum in 2005. Drawing on René Lalique’s designs, its bottle carries the Masque de Femme motif that he created in 1935 on the top of its stopper. The fragrance combines the aromatic spice of bay leaves and pink pepper with more powdery flowers and vanilla, giving its sweetness a quieter herbal and woody setting.
Bergamot brings brightness around the more aromatic bay note and the sharper accents of pink pepper. Jasmine and heliotrope form the floral heart, accompanied by a softer almond-like sweetness. Patchouli gives the base greater depth, while sandalwood and tonka bean add body. Vanilla draws those elements together in a rounder finish. The relationship between the flowers, wood and sweetness suggests a more powdery warmth rather than a lighter fruit-led character.
Try it for dinner in the evening or with clothes in quieter colours. The 100mL bottle is a thick transparent glass cube, holding a pale golden liquid below a stopper that combines black and clear elements. Red cord around the neck provides a brighter accent. The small sculpted decoration on the cap connects the fragrance with the house’s glass designs.
