Sho
Lemon, lime, green tea and jasmine evoke the clear sound of the shō, with flowers and soft woods beneath.
Perfumer: Hidenori Matsuno
Sho belongs to L’Héritage, KOHSHI’s collection connecting fragrance with Japanese instruments. The shō mouth organ provides the subject: its clear, solemn sound is translated into a citrus-green composition. Lemon and jasmine create a luminous space, while lime and green accents suggest a thin melodic line extending upwards.
Lemon, eucalyptus, lime, aldehydes and green tea form the opening. Apple, freesia, cardamom, geranium, lilac, marine notes and jasmine make up the heart, bringing fruit and floral softness into the green character. Patchouli, sandalwood and cedarwood provide the foundation. Amber, vanilla and heliotrope round out the finish with a gentler, sweeter texture.
The fragrance suits a quiet daytime setting or a considered morning routine when bright citrus with soft flowers and woods feels appropriate. Its 50 mL bottle carries a dark, wood-grained cap and a white label bearing the instrument’s name. The change of bottle style distinguishes L’Héritage within the house’s collections.
