Hinoki approaches a tree long associated with sacred Japanese architecture through its fresh aroma and the impression of pale timber. Natural hinoki oil from Mie anchors the composition, while floral and woody materials give the wood a softer surface and greater depth. Created by Tatsushi Horita, this eau de parfum was launched in 2019.
Cypress and mint bring cool air into the opening, with white pepper adding a dry accent. Hinoki meets geranium and iris in the heart; the flowers soften the timber without turning it into a sweet floral perfume. Cedar, frankincense and sandalwood connect that clarity with a quieter, deeper finish.
The tall 100mL glass bottle, wooden cap and black label echo its restrained shape. It suits a daytime outfit built around clean lines, particularly when the desired impression is fresh wood rather than rich floral sweetness.
