Secrets du Paradis Rouge

The story of Secrets du Paradis Rouge begins on a honeymoon, in a former imperial city at the foot of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains known as the 'Red City'. Under strong sun and amid the murmur of its inhabitants, the couple follow winding lanes until, suddenly, everything falls silent. A great door opens onto a riad and its interior garden, sheltered by the red walls of the old Medina, where the scent of orange blossom fills the air. Years later, this 'red paradise' remains their secret source of serenity, its magic still intact.

Luca Maffei's composition follows the same path. A neroli opening is brightened by orange and davana, and in the brand's telling, almond, honey and rose accompany the walk through the Medina's lanes.

Then, as if the gates of the paradise swing open, orange blossom absolute appears and the blossom melts into the sensual sweetness of vanilla and tonka. A balanced accord of benzoin, amber and musk holds it up, while Indonesian patchouli adds depth.
