Lys Nobilis is Luca Maffei's ode to the most noble of flowers, the lily. Jul et Mad casts it as a symbol of kings and, just as much, of femininity, love, passion, adoration and admiration, and the composition sets out to hold that regal yet intimate double nature in a single scent.
Its accord is named floral, a lily-spice accord. The citrus freshness of bergamot and clementine melts into a bouquet of jasmine, freesia and violet, with the lily placed at its centre. Pink pepper, set in the same heart, scatters a dry prickle over the white petals so the sweetness never takes over.
Below, vanilla and patchouli lend the lily's lofty nobility a soft shade.
