Red Shoes takes its cue from a sumptuous red silk dress of the same name that Jacques Fath designed in 1950 and that the model Bettina wore. From that dress, perfumer Cécile Zarokian drew a floral woody fragrance with a sparkling opening and a fresh sensation.

Blackcurrant, Red Berries, Grapefruit and Aldehydes open the scent. The tart, slightly green bite of blackcurrant meets the sweet-sour berries and grapefruit's bitter edge, while the aldehydes give the whole a fizzing sheen.

The heart centers on Rose Damascene Absolute. Geranium's green floral tone supports the full rose, and ginger and pink pepper run a cool, lively spark around it; the house likens these spices to the cold, metallic colors of the satin dress.

Patchouli, Cashmere Wood and Musks form the base. Patchouli's earthy depth holds the opulent rose, and the creamy smoothness of cashmere wood with soft musk leads toward the silky effect the house describes.
