This is not a blue bottle 1/.3

Blood orange opens with tart peel, then rose and saffron bring dry heat. Patchouli and leather settle into a firm, smoldering base — the house's "perfume of fire."

Blood orange arrives first — the peel rather than the juice, tart and faintly metallic. Rose and saffron rise into that brightness, not as a soft bouquet but as dry heat. The house calls this the perfume of fire, a molten ring where a blood-orange sun climbs over a blazing circle of rose and saffron and releases leather's power.

Rose and saffron hold the center. The rose does not open sweetly; saffron pulls it toward something drier, with a metallic edge, while the citrus keeps the outline taut. The warmth stays low in sugar, closer to embers than to flowers.

Patchouli and leather form the base — patchouli dry as leaf rather than damp earth, and leather firm, like worn hide. Sweetness remains low; spice and hide trade places while the orange lingers as an echo between them.

Cool air and an evening setting suggest a fitting occasion to enjoy the warmth of spice and leather.

The name comes from Magritte's "The Treachery of Images." Within the series' journey from abstraction to the most heated of emotions, 1/.3 takes the fiery side.
