Arcadia

An aromatic fougère from Hiram Green, named for Arcadia—the pastoral idyll of classical imagination—and composed entirely of natural materials. French lavender and Italian bergamot establish the opening with a dry, resonant herbal brightness, true to the fougère tradition that has no fern oil to draw from and must build its ferny atmosphere from other greens, flowers and balsams. Jasmine and rose shade the heart with a soft floral light, as if sunlight were filtering onto undergrowth. In the base, tonka bean brings a hay-sweet coumarin warmth while aged patchouli and New Caledonian sandalwood lend grounded wood and earth; spices and resins stitch the layers together. The result reinterprets the classical fougère with an unforced naturalness—herbaceous, mossy and quietly luminous—suited to long walks and transitional seasons rather than any sharp occasion.
