Correspondance

An elegant rose–oud oriental where damask rose, iris and hyacinth open in soft powder, a tender apricot and Rose de Mai heart adds creamy fruitiness, and ambergris, vanilla and oud melt into a smooth, luminous ambery trail.

Scent Development and Character

Correspondance opens with a dignified duet of damask rose and iris, brushed by hyacinth to give a cool, slightly vintage powder over a deep oud thread. As it settles, Rose de Mai and a soft apricot note lend a gentle, lactonic fruitiness that lightens the bouquet while patchouli adds earth and shadow beneath the florals. The drydown reveals a warm, plush base where ambergris and vanilla fuse with oud into a luminous ambery trail—smooth rather than smoky—so the overall impression is of an elegant rose–oud oriental softened by powder, fruit and cream-toned sweetness.

Who It Is For and When to Wear It

Essences wear as a concentrated yet measured veil, with the rose–oud axis staying close to the skin while the powdery iris and vanilla lend a soft halo; Les Brumes interprets the same structure more airily, suitable for generous spraying on skin or clothing. The composition feels polished and formal—ideal for tailored settings, evening meals and quiet contemplative moments—yet the gentle fruitiness and smooth amber allow it to work in daytime whenever a refined, introspective mood is desired. Best suited to autumn and winter, when its ambery warmth, oud depth and powdery rose feel most comforting, with enough refinement to wear in cooler spring; it can be worn on summer evenings in Les Brumes form but may feel heavy in high heat. Sillage is In its essence and extrait-like forms, sillage is noticeable but controlled, forming a refined aura at arm’s length rather than a room-filling trail; Les Brumes projects a softer, more diffuse cloud that surrounds the wearer gently, especially when sprayed on fabric. Longevity is Essences and Extrait formats of Correspondance typically offer long-lasting wear in the 8–10 hour range on skin, with traces of the rose–oud and ambergris base remaining even longer; Les Brumes, while lighter, still tends to reach most of a working day with more moderate persistence. These are editorial estimates derived from the official composition and concentration and will vary with skin and climate.
