Madame Grès names the couturière who founded the house. Sidonie Lancesseur gives its conception of continuity and renewal a floral oriental expression, combining flowers and fruit with warmer woods.
Cinnamon meets grapefruit and pineapple in the opening. Magnolia, white peony and freesia form the floral heart. Sandalwood, vanilla, patchouli and leather add rounded sweetness and drier depth beneath those flowers, retaining the brighter character of the fruit within a warmer composition.
It suits evening dress when floral richness should be accompanied by the composure of wood and leather. The tall, rectangular 100 mL glass bottle has a pale oval cap and a black-bordered label. Amber-coloured liquid and a prominent G emblem give the design a concise identity.
