Sandalwood
Bergamot, rose, cardamom and pepper lead to orris and star anise, with smoother sandalwood beneath.
Sandalwood draws on the forests of Mysore in India and the smoother, creamier character of the wood. Its heritage reaches back to the house’s 1870 fragrance and includes supplies provided to an expedition. The illustrated presentation is the Eau de Parfum revived within the 2024 Ledger Series.
Bergamot and rose meet the spiced outlines of cardamom and black pepper. Orris adds powderier softness alongside the warmer sweetness of star anise. Sandalwood, patchouli and musk support the finish, joining creamier wood with earthier depth and a gentler texture.
Consider it for cooler everyday outings when wood should also retain softer flowers and spice. This is an editorial wearing suggestion. The illustrated 100mL bottle has rectangular clear glass, a gold cap, an orange label, pale yellow liquid and a thick transparent base.
