Opus 1144

Softer iris and vanilla meet resin, wood and leather, with brighter lemon and mandarin.

Opus 1144 interprets a Gothic atmosphere through scent. The official inspiration brings together the basilica of Saint-Denis near Paris and the year 1144. The extrait de parfum connects that architectural image with softer powdery textures and the warmth of wood and resin.

White musk, vanilla, sandalwood, ambergris and leather form the subject. Benzoin, cashmere wood, orchid and iris make up the counter-subject, with lemon, mandarin, jasmine and elemi in the tail. Powdery iris and sweeter vanilla meet the structure of wood and leather, while citrus and elemi add a brighter expression.

Consider it when a softer fragrance should also carry the weight of wood and resin. The illustrated 100mL bottle has a black rectangular body and a narrow neck beneath a grey angular cap. The cap’s rough, stone-like surface contrasts with the smoother body.
