La Lumière
Caravaggio’s contrast of light and darkness inspires civet and leather with flowers, patchouli and brighter herbs.
Perfumer: Filippo Sorcinelli
La Lumière is one of three fragrances in Unico Suono, inspired by Caravaggio’s paintings of Saint Matthew. A beam of light becomes an image of creation, with darkness allowing that light to appear. The movement of velvet provides another sensory reference, meeting animalic texture, flowers and herbs.
Civet, leather and oakmoss form the subject; geranium, patchouli and clove the counter-subject; bergamot, clary sage and artemisia the tail. Brighter citrus and herbs give an outline to deeper leather and skin-like textures, with flowers, earthier patchouli and spice between them.
Consider it for flowers and herbs with the depth of leather and earthier textures. The clear rectangular 30mL bottle reveals pale yellow liquid. A gold-coloured cylindrical cap sits above a black-bordered label carrying the name and extrait de parfum wording.
