Whiplash
Bright citrus and ginger meet softer rose and cardamom, with ambrette, Akigalawood and patchouli adding roundness and woody depth.
Perfumer: Dalia Izem
Whiplash brings the brighter character of orange and mandarin into contact with pepper and ginger. Introduced in 2024 and created by Dalia Izem, EX NIHILO’s eau de parfum gives the citrus freshness softer rose and aromatic cardamom, before connecting it with Akigalawood and deeper patchouli. It suits someone who enjoys spice with floral roundness and the softer, musk-like character of ambrette around it.
Orange, mandarin, bergamot and pepper form the opening, placing a more distinct spicy outline alongside brighter citrus. Ginger then meets rose and cardamom in the heart. Its fresher, more stimulating character gains softer flowers and an aromatic spice with a cooler facet. Ambrette, Akigalawood and patchouli form the base, joining a softer musk-like texture with spicy wood and earthier depth. Flowers and spice connect the brighter citrus starting point with the more grounded warmth of woods. The structure lets a vivid outline and quieter roundness share the same fragrance.
Try it for an afternoon walk in a light jacket or an outing on a cooler day. A white shirt can meet its citrus freshness, softer rose and woods. The selected 100mL bottle holds a pale yellow liquid in clear rectangular glass. A silver-toned cap carries a finer lattice-like pattern, while a silver label on the front bears the fragrance name. Clear shoulders and a thicker glass base support its composed outline. The cooler silver details and paler liquid colour give the citrus, spice and quieter woody setting an equally restrained visual expression.
