Vanilla Edesia
Bitter almond, milky textures and vanilla meet cumin and resins in a fragrance exploring sweetness and spice through Edesia, the goddess of feasting.
Perfumer: Cécile Zarokian
Vanilla Edesia draws on the abundance of a feast and the Roman goddess associated with it. Created by Cécile Zarokian and introduced in 2023, it explores vanilla through sweetness, flowers, spice, resin and wood. Its central contrast lies between a softer, more innocent gourmand character and vanilla’s darker, more leathery facets, giving the banquet subject several different textures.
Bergamot, mandarin, bitter almond, heliotrope, pink pepper and frankincense introduce Ceylon cinnamon, cumin, coriander, rose centifolia absolute, gurjun balsam, ylang-ylang and milky notes. Vanilla absolute, patchouli, cypriol, Haitian vetiver, sandalwood, Virginia cedar, amber woods and white musk then form the base. Deeper woods support the sweetness, while cumin and the other spices give the creamier materials a more contrasting edge.
Consider it for an evening when you want vanilla with spice, or a warmer accompaniment to your clothes. The 100mL bottle combines dark smoked glass with a rose-gold-coloured cap and shoulders. Its black circular medallion bears the eagle and fragrance name above a thick darker glass base.
