Aquila Absolute
Raspberry and cardamom meet rose, geranium and white oud, with leather and violet leaf adding contrast to a fragrance inspired by Aquila, the eagle constellation.
Perfumer: Julien Rasquinet
Aquila Absolute takes its subject from the eagle constellation and the sight of an eagle in flight. Created by Julien Rasquinet and introduced in 2023, it gives that sense of movement a brighter, fruit-led opening before developing through flowers, leather and woods. The composition brings together materials with very different textures, from the fresh-tart character of raspberry to the depth of its oud-led base.
Guatemalan cardamom and raspberry introduce Turkish rose absolute and Egyptian geranium. Leather, patchouli, labdanum and white oud give the fragrance a darker framework, while Egyptian violet leaf absolute adds a cooler, green accent. That leafy detail places a fresher contrast around the sweetness of the fruit and the fuller flowers.
Consider it for an evening outing, or when you want a more colourful expression of oud with a fruity opening. The 100mL bottle combines star-speckled blue glass with a rose-gold-coloured cap and shoulders. A blue circular medallion bears the eagle and fragrance name, with the colour continuing into the thick glass below.
