Tears
Wet cotton fields inspire green herbs, soft flowers and musk, with the dry warmth of hay and vetiver.
Perfumer: Paul Guerlain
Tears is a collaboration between Denim Tears and Comme des Garçons that evokes rural Georgia’s cotton fields after rain. Heat rising from red clay and freshly wet green vegetation become grasses, roots and softer musk. Dry, hay-like warmth sits within the idea of a damp landscape.
Galbanum, ambrettolide and sage open with leafy greenness and softer musk. Daffodil and jasmine meet flouve’s grassy sweetness and the quieter powdery texture of orris at the heart. Vetiver, hay, cypriol and musk carry root-like depth and dry grassy warmth into the drydown.
Choose it when musk should also have an earthy and grassy dimension. Softer cotton shirts or quieter daytime clothes can complement it. Floral roundness and dry vegetation offer a texture to enjoy close to the skin.
Paul Guerlain created this eau de parfum in 2026. A gold cap tops the white rectangular 50mL bottle. Cotton flowers decorate its yellow front beside the fragrance name, bringing the composition’s material inspiration into the design.
