Scapular
Galbanum, styrax, woods, incense and moss sketch a sacred undergrowth at the foot of Mount Carmel.
Perfumer: Anaïs Biguine
Scapular belongs to Chapel Factory's triptych of extraits de parfum, which the house presents as intense creations shaped by high concentration. Its starting image is a sacred undergrowth at the foot of Mount Carmel: roots, resins and dark bark giving off an earthy force, with incense settling on the skin like an olfactory scapular.
The top pairs galbanum with styrax. Galbanum brings a sharp, sappy green, while styrax adds a heavier resinous sweetness, so the opening feels close to damp leaves and sap.
The heart moves to ambrox, ho wood and cedar. Ambrox gives a dry, mineral warmth; ho wood is softer and slightly floral; cedar adds a pencil-shaving dryness that suggests roots and bark. In the base, incense and moss leave smoke and a dark, damp green close to the skin.
With green, resin and smoke layered together, it suits days when you want quiet depth more than freshness.
