23-16 Hanachirusato
Fig with an adult appeal, inspired by a film scene and set over modern woods and rounded vanilla, with a lighter touch of bergamot.
Perfumer: Jean-Michel Duriez
A queen eating a fig in Michel Ocelot’s film Princes et Princesses gave Yuta Watanabe the starting point for 23-16 Hanachirusato. The scene suggested a fruit with an adult appeal, beyond an uncomplicated sweet treat. Watanabe developed that impression with perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez.
They placed materials suggesting fig over a modern woody accord they had been studying together. Vanilla brings roundness, with jasmine adding a floral presence. The composition has a grounded centre, while bergamot lends a lighter, brighter opening. Fig is enjoyed through the texture of woods and a composed sweetness.
Introduced in 2026 as a 30mL eau de toilette, its name comes from a Genji incense diagram chosen to match the atmosphere of the finished fragrance. A clear bottle and silver cylindrical cap frame a white label bearing the number and diagram.
