Blue Sapphire Supercharged is a companion to the original Blue Sapphire. The original was created in honour of the 65th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Blue sapphire is the gemstone of that celebration, and this version reflects the original while offering a more layered and detailed composition.
Orange, aldehydes and lemon open the scent. Juicy orange brings a zesty brightness, while the aldehydes spread a soft, fizzing lift through the whole composition.
In the heart, cool cardamom runs through the floral sweetness of rose and jasmine and the red-fruit quality of raspberry. According to the brand, the original's herbal character of blue chamomile, sage and aldehydes was adjusted with rum, basil, cinnamon and cardamom to create a more complex, sleeker impression.
Patchouli, leather, agarwood (oud) and amber form the base, their earthy, leathery depth anchoring the citrus and flowers above. The brand calls the two Blue Sapphires echo and response, and this version sets its brightness against a darker ground.
