Blue Sapphire
Bright citrus and herbs meet dewy rose and magnolia, with oud, amber and patchouli giving the flowers woodier, earthier depth.
Perfumer: Christian Provenzano
Blue Sapphire was created by Christian Provenzano in 2013 as a pure perfume inspired by the sixty-fifth wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The gemstone's associations with loyalty, devotion and happiness find expression in dewy flowers set against deeper oud. Bright citrus gives the composition an inviting surface, with a more substantial woody character beneath it.
Lemon and orange open alongside sage, marigold and saffron. The brisk texture of citrus peel meets greener herbs and flowers, with warmer spice adding contrast. Cardamom brings shading to a heart of rose, magnolia and jasmine. Amber, patchouli, oud and vetiver form the base, connecting the fuller flowers with woodier and earthier textures. Chamomile and supple leather also contribute to the floral depth.
Consider it when you want the sheen of flowers and the weight of oud together with a brighter citrus edge. A dressed-up dinner or a slower occasion gives that combination room to be enjoyed. The 100mL bottle pairs deep blue glass with a gold-coloured cap and a shield bearing Celtic patterns, with a blue sapphire set at its centre.
