Rose & Black Pepper
A spiced rose of upcycled petals, heated by saffron, black pepper and cardamom, with a make-up powder accord at its heart and an animalic wood beneath.

Serge de Oliveira builds this fragrance around a rose meant to be bold and forceful, made from upcycled petals. His aim is balance: floral sensuality held against spice, in a scent that sits outside the lines of gender.
Bergamot gives a brief brightness before cardamom, organic black pepper and saffron take over with dry heat. In the heart, rose petals meet clove, geranium and the fruity, heady tone of davana, while a make-up powder accord adds a faint, modern dustiness.
The base gathers patchouli fraction, Siamese benzoin, myrrh and Virginia cedar into what he calls the mystical signature of a natural animal wood. It leaves the rose carnal and absorbing, close to provocative.
