About Vincent Ricord
Vincent Ricord is a French perfumer raised in a Grasse family connected to fragrance. He understood the profession from an early age and eventually redirected an instinct for music and drawing toward raw materials, accords, and olfactory composition.
Career
At nineteen he began an internship with Expressions Parfumées and remained for fifteen years, learning raw materials, major accords, production, evaluation, and multiple fragrance formats. He later worked with other French fragrance houses, joined CPL Aromas as a senior perfumer in 2020, and moved to TechnicoFlor in 2023. He has also shared his knowledge through teaching.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Ricord compares perfume creation to composing music for a film: the task is to find the right accord for a specific scene. Colour, travel, food, people, and music supply emotional material, which he translates into contrast, rhythm, and a clear structure rather than literal imitation. He values both the exchange of ideas around a brief and the private concentration of writing a formula.
