Conceived in 1988, this fragrance is a testament to the Spanish luxury house's dedication to profound craftsmanship and artistic complexity. Inspired by the universal yet highly individual nature of DNA, Esencia attempts the monumental task of bottling an entire living ecosystem.
What makes Esencia a true anomaly in modern perfumery is its staggering composition of over 200 ingredients. Master perfumer Olivier Cresp utilized microscopic dosing to ensure these elements harmonize beautifully without muddying. The original EDT delivers a striking aromatic fougère experience. It opens with the piercing, bitter green of galbanum and artemisia, akin to the crisp, tense air of a pine forest just before dawn. As the scent unfolds, a sophisticated heart of pine needles, herbal notes, and non-sweet florals creates a texture that is distinctly elegant.
