Crassna & Rose Otto focuses on the natural materials behind a familiar pairing. The house presents the composition as a way to experience their texture beyond a reconstructed oud or rose accord.
Its oud comes from plantation-grown Aquilaria crassna in Melaka, distilled in Johor in 2018 and aged for eight years. The wood was soaked for only two weeks before distillation, a step the house says was intended to limit fermentation. Rose oil supplies the freshness of the flower, while rose absolute brings a deeper, richer aspect.
Pink pepper CO2, lychee, rose petals and clove form the top. Rose and jasmine sambac meet the aged oud in the heart. Patchouli, amber, beeswax and sandalwood support the florals with a warm woody base.
The perfume is offered at 25% parfum concentration. It suits an unhurried exploration of rose alongside the textures of wood and resins.
