Anvers takes its name from the French word for Antwerp. Contemporary photography informs Ulrich Lang New York’s approach to scent, and the brand chose Roger Szmulewicz, a photography dealer with a gallery in the Belgian city, as the face and muse of its first men’s fragrance. The composition opens with bergamot, lime and tangerine alongside sage, mint and basil: citrus brightness set against a green, aromatic edge. At its heart, violet and jasmine sit with geranium leaves, while sesame and honey bring a gentle toasted sweetness to the flowers. Leather, moss, sheer ambers and precious woods form the base, with guava adding an unexpected fruit note. The result keeps its fresh outline while making room for softer floral textures and the warmth of leather and wood.
