Electric Wood Eau de Parfum
A woody fragrance born from the smell of a Gibson guitar case opened for the first time: dry nutmeg, lemon and sage, a strong core of cedar and oak, and a dusty finish of iris and musks.
Perfumer: Anne-Sophie Behaghel
In the early 1990s Dr. Mike opened a guitar case for the first time. Inside was a Gibson, and its smell, a powerful mix of wood, lacquer and metal, stayed with him; Electric Wood, he says, was born that day. Anne-Sophie Behaghel composed this eau de parfum.
Nutmeg, lemon and sage open it, the clean brightness of lemon set against nutmeg's dry warmth and the herbal bitterness of sage. The heart is cedar wood and oak wood. Cedar is used in deliberate excess for a noble touch, so the wood comes forward clearly, and oak adds the raw heat of an instrument played hard.
Iris and musks remain at the end. Together with nutmeg, iris carries a dusty, powdery dryness that evokes late-night ash, laying a quiet, worn texture over the woods.
