20.2 ÉGLISE DE VELOURS
Incense, myrrh and hinoki are drawn closer to skin by velvet-like musks.
Perfumer: Pierre Guillaume
Église de Velours recalls a Paris couture atelier preparing for a show in 1997. Rolls of fabric, velvet chairs, smoke and concentrated creative silence suggest entering a church. That “velvet church” becomes an incense fragrance with the intimacy of a caress.
Olibanum, myrrh, hinoki and velvet-like musks form the composition. Clearer resinous and aromatic outlines meet fresher wood and softer skin textures. Clear incense becomes a warmer, smoother caress. The selected 100 mL bottle combines clear rectangular glass with a black cap and circular label.
