Kalan

Kalan connects brighter orange, black pepper and lavender with a warm cedar foundation. Introduced in 2019 and credited to Céline Ripert, it places vivid citrus and spice beside greener aromatic notes. Wood gives that brighter, sharper opening a more composed foundation.

Blood orange and black pepper lead into lavender, wormwood and orange blossom at the heart. Tonka bean, cedar and moss form the base. Fruit sweetness and the piquant impression of pepper meet herbal bitterness and softer flowers, before wood and moss bring a calmer, more grounded texture to the composition.

Consider it for outings when brighter citrus and spice suit a firmer woody foundation. This is a suggestion from its composition. The illustrated 125mL Eau de Parfum has an opaque red bottle and silver-coloured cap, with raised horses, a shield marked 1743 and the house name on the front.
